It’s being said that the golden age of television is here. And we agree, it’s never been better.
From traditional TV channels to multiple streaming service options, there’s always something for you to watch.
While there are a lot of new shows to look forward to this year, there are plenty of returning ones that fans are excited for.
So, whether you prefer to watch your shows on TV or stream them on your phone, prepare to clear your schedules as we’ve listed some of the best shows that are coming back in 2019!
Stranger Things, Season 3
A kind of a dead cert even before season 2 would end, season 3 of Stranger Things promises to be well… even stranger. July will see us fans returning to Hawkins with a horde of new government troubles and along with a healthy serving of everything 80’s. With interesting episode titles like Suzie, Do You Copy?", "The Mall Rats" and "The Case of the Missing Lifeguard," we can’t wait till we see our favourite Hawkins residents back in action!
Game Of Thrones, Season 8
Quite possibly the most awaited show of the year, the final season of Game Of Thrones promises to the biggest and best yet. As fans prepare to get their questions answered and their theories proved right, we’re sure the final season will be every bit emotional, haunting, and bittersweet. A fitting end to an era of emotions, amirite?
The Crown, Season 3
Back with a fresh new cast, season 3 of The Crown has Olivia Colman filling in Claire Foy’s shoes as Queen Elizabeth II. While we can expect pretty much of the same royal intrigue in the lavish historical drama's next batch of episodes as its predecessors, season 3 will cover the next decade of Queen Elizabeth II’s rule, when Her Majesty and Prince Philip will be in their fifties. The first two seasons primarily focused on the Queen, her journey to taking the throne and her marriage, it’s being said that season 3 will shine more of a light on the royal couple's children.
Big Little Lies, Season 2
Both a critical as well as a fan favourite, this Emmy and Golden Globe winning show’s second season brings Meryl Streep to the small screen. Monterey’s famous moms and the show’s overarching themes of empowerment served with a twisted plotline and riveting central mystery had us biting our nails to stubs in season 1, and we’re sure season 2 won’t be any different.
You, Season 2
Penn Badgely may be known to many as Dan Hunphrey, but ‘You’ made fans see him in a completely different light. In the spine-chilling show, Badgley plays Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager who goes to extreme lengths to date a woman named Guinevere Beck, who is played by Elizabeth Lail. One of the biggest hits of 2018, ‘You’ has been confirmed for a second season and we’re excited to know who if Joe decides to turn over a new leaf.
Mindhunter, Season 2
The popular series portrays the work and lives of FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), who team up with psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) to interview convicted serial killers about their motivations and backgrounds. The first season focused on real-life murderers like Ed Kemper and Montie Rissel and season two will return second round of serial killer psychoanalyzing and crime-solving.
Rick And Morty, Season 4
When Season 3 of Rick And Morty ended on a cliffhanger, fans were left waiting to find out what lay ahead in the parallel universes. Then came a shocker that the makers were not pursuing a fourth season. But, last year the makers announced that they were writing and producing 70 more episodes. We can’t wait till the end of the year to see more of this sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.
Star Trek Discovery, Season 2
Sci fi fans have a reason to rejoice as season two of the much-awaited Star Trek Discovery returns boldly with new intergalactic adventures. With old yet, familiar characters returning to the fray, season 2 promises to be brighter and grittier than the first season. We’ll definitely live long and prosper during this fun journey!
Go on and grab yourself the best seat and a tub of popcorn, will you?
