Have you tried all these scotch cocktails yet?

Most people who are accustomed to the flavours of a good malt, prefer to stick to it. If you’re nodding in agreement, you know what we mean. But there’s more to this spirit than simply sipping on it “on the rocks” or with a “splash of water”. 
The peaty, smoky and malty flavours of Scotch can be further explored when mixed with the right ingredients. If you, like us, love Scotch whisky take it from us, Scotch whisky cocktails are just as delightful to sip on. So, give these 5 cocktail recipes a shot that’ll prove to be worth the pour of Scotch. 

1. Rob Roy
The Rob Roy is also called a Scotch Manhattan. It’s a lot like the classic Manhattan, except that it is made exclusively with a Scotch whisky. 

60 ml Johnnie Walker Black Label  
20 ml sweet vermouth 
3 dashes angostura bitters 
Cherries, for garnish 

Add all the ingredients into a mixing glass over ice and stir. 
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. 
Garnish with speared cherries.

2. Johnnie Ginger
The Johnnie Ginger is a take on the classic Whisky Ginger. The Scotch, when paired with the spiciness of ginger ale really, brings out a burst of flavour that is both refreshing and enjoyable.

45 ml Johnnie Walker Black Label
180 ml ginger ale 
A squeeze of lime juice 
Lime wedge, for garnish

Fill a highball glass with cubed ice. 
Add Johnnie Walker Black Label Whiskey to it, top up with ginger ale and add a squeeze of lime. 
Stir lightly to combine and then, garnish with a lime wedge.

3. Scotch Tom Collins
Originally a gin cocktail but turns out mixing Scotch with fresh lemon juice, sugar and soda tastes just as fine. 

45ml Johnnie Walker Black Label
20ml Fresh Lemon Juice
2tbsps caster sugar
90ml soda
Lemon wheel for garnish

Pour all the ingredients in a Collins glass, top it off with soda and garnish with a lemon wheel.

4. Scotch Smash
With the right ingredients, Scotch whisky can make it to your summer cocktail menu too. The Scotch Smash is the perfect example of drink that’s bold, refreshing and oh so delicious! 

60ml Johnnie Walker Black Label
20ml fresh lemon juice
10ml sugar syrup
2 slices fresh ginger
8 fresh mint leaves
1 sprig fresh mint for garnish
Pout the Johnnie Walker Black Label, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a shaker.
Add fresh mint, ginger and ice cubes and give it a good shake.
Pour into a glass and garnish.

5. Godfather
The Godfather is a simple cocktail that does not disguise the flavour of the Scotch. Instead, it just uplifts the taste. 

45ml Johnnie Walker Black Label
15ml amaretto liqueur

In an old fashioned glass, build all the ingredients with ice.
Stir and serve.
